Re: Orientation Week (MSM)
1. About 5 buses will be sent in turn to the airports – Terminal 1 and 2 – of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, to fetch the new-intake students to the main campus of University Malaysia Sabah, on the 27th (Saturday, Time: 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.) and the 28th of June (Sunday, Time: 0 a.m. – 2 a.m. then 6 a.m. – 11:59p.m.), according to the arrival time for the flights of the respective airports. [Note: The Committee of MSM still haven't yet got the approval to provide such service on the 26th and the 29th of June; buses may or may not be sent. In case the students do not see UMS people-in-charge in the airport during those days, they might have to consider other means of transport at their own expense.]

Re: Semester Open Updates
1. An additional RM35 will be charged on the students’ account starting the coming session, for overall electricity bill, disregard of how many devices they are using in their respective residential colleges; students no longer need to pay RM10 & RM 15 as they did during the previous sessions.
2. The plan to place water coolers in Residential College AB, CD and IP is in the process, while washing machines have been approved to be put in all the aforesaid residential colleges, pending plan implementation. Nevertheless, the Unit of Student Residence and Service of the Students and Alumni Department (HEP) is optimistic about completing the two projects by the 1st semester of 2009/2010 session.
3. The proposal to reopen the Residential College of Kurnia Perdana has been postponed due to complications such as the time and cost needed to mass-renovate the long-deserted residential college.
4. The transport system within UMS has been revamped. Further information concerning this matter will be notified soon. Owing to that, the plan to provide bus service to fetch students from the airports to the campus, on the 5th, 6th and 7th of July, 2009, might be cancelled despite its debut last semester, due especially to the time-constraint for arrangement.

Re: Appeals For Accomodation
Negotiations with the people-in-charge to approve your appeals have not produced any favourable result. As a representative of the Student Representative Council (MPP) to SSMP I hereby sincerely apologise to you all for failing to secure accomodations in your respective residential colleges. All your appeals will be responded only 3 weeks after semester open – that is, you will receive notification about that matter only starting the 21st of July up until the 1st of August, 2009, according to TAKWIM of Unit Perumahan & Perkhidmatan Pelajar or the Unit of Student Residence and Service of the HEP. Thus, you must find temporary accomodations on your own during the 3-week period of awaiting your appeal results.
Thank you.
